Flowers from hill and lane near Port Wen.

Flowers of the Coast

The most obvious flowers of the coastal fringe are now looking great. These are at Cemlyn.

Flowers of the Field

The meadow flowers are looking great as well as the trees. The fields fringing the sea have been spread with muck and artificial fertiliser again so the wild flowers are decreasing as the atlantic grassland is depleted by the nitrogen applications soil, buttercups and daisies in the grass fields where the sheep graze. But in the meadows closer to the car park are looking great.
Will look out for the orchids later in June in the areas closer to the cliffs which have shallow soils and rocky outcrops, where the scyllas and bluebells have just finished flowering.

Trees

Identify these trees at Wylfa Nature Reserve. They are all around the car park and picnic area at the Wylfa Nature Reserve. One is struggling, another has sadly died. Mostly very green after the mild, though wet and stormy spring.

Can't offer any prizes, but good fun.
