This old gate at the site of one of the Wylfa Houses demolished for the first power station still survives in the undergrowth.Just by the coastal footpath to Wylfa Head by the car park.
Visual descriptions of the area around Wylfa, Anglesey, soon to be the site of Wylfa Newydd. What does this area look like now? Watch the changes as they happened. How will this area be changed by the new construction works? Will I still be in the area to see it all happen? The answer is now, no. House sold on 27th January 2016. How might this blog be continued? If you start a new one on Wylfa WalkerNewydd? please let me know and link to this one.

Reduced Access by Public
I would suggest that public access to this section of the footpath network is reducing. This kissing gate between Castyll Gardens and Wylfa to Porth y Pystel is barely used now and the thorns and gorse are closing in around it. The muddy nature o f the footpaths and the noise of the machinery may be displacing regular walkers to the quieter ares to the west and east.

Posts in front of Gates
The strange yellow markings were for wooden posts. To protect the brick gate posts from being hit by machinery?

Segregation of Coastal Footpath Walkers from Vehicles
The hard surfaces for vehicles continue to be put in. The locked gates are to prevent unauthorised wheeled vehicules. The footpath, kissing gates, next to the field gates remain open, but a new surface and taped segregation has been put in place to safely separate walkers on the Anglesey Coastal Footpath from the site vehicles now using the area. The few vehicles using the tracks only travel at 10mph and thee is good visibility. No longer a country walk though.

Locks Added to Gates
For the first time locks have been added to the field gates. Presumably as the hard surfaces are being laid down this is to prevent unauthorised access to wheel vehicles. or to prevent contractors leaving gates open and letting out the cattle. They used to be just tied up with string. Happily fo rthe moment most still are.
