'Many will be disappointed' - Yes

Controversial overhead power lines across Anglesey are the preferred option for the planned £8bn Wylfa Newydd nuclear station.
But National Grid (NG) has ruled out pylons for an area of outstanding natural beauty with cables set to run underground and under the Menai Strait.
The route will broadly follow the path of existing pylons.
NG said it realised that "many will be disappointed" that cables would not run all the way under the sea.

Pylon Meeting

National Grid's Anglesey energy and pylons plan prompts meeting
The BBC Reports that
a public meeting is to call on the National Grid to change its preferred option of building pylons across Anglesey to improve north Wales' electricity connection.

Friday's public meeting is in Llanfairpwll where an existing line of pylons carries power by the village over the Menai Strait to a sub station at Pentir near Bangor.

It was reported that 150 people turned up at the meeting.

Snowdon from Tregele - with pylons

The view towards Snowdon from Tregele also has the view of the National Grid transmission pylons.
Viewed from the B5025 at the end of the access road to Wylfa Power Station.
The upgrade of these pylons will increase their size to carry electricity from the proposed Celtic Array Wind Farm between Anglesey and Isle of Man and/or Wylfa B.

More pylons radiate out from the south of Tregele.

National Grid Issues

Some work on power cables reminded me of the National Grid Connection Project which is set up to discuss issues of new power line transmission pylons across North Wales.
Even if there is not a new nuclear power station there are plans to bring on shore electricity from the wind farm about to be constructed between Anglesey and the Isle of Man.
National Grid are asking for public for feedback on proposals to connect Horizon's proposed nuclear power station at Wylfa of up to 3.6 gigawatts (GW), together with 2 GW of offshore Irish Sea wind energy being proposed by Celtic Array, which will also connect on Anglesey. This represents what National Grid calls the Need Case for its wo
