Autumn is here, but feeling more like the summer we didn't have, calm, warm, sunny.
Good for autumn colour.

Summer Memories of Former Gardens

Flowers, memories of former gardens whose houses were demolished prior to the survey works commencing.

More Orchids

Great display this year. Probably because the sheep were taken away slightly earlier.
Hope the grass doesn't get cut until they get a chance to seed. This is a rare maritime grassland habitat.

Spring Scillas in Flower

The spring flowering scillas are beginning to show - but sleet and snow with cold nights forecast!
The blue sheen on the grass always looks great on the cliff paths.

Disappearing Animals

Didn't have a camera today - the shots below were taken on 12 March - had I had a camera I could have shown you a hare in the field behind the wall, and a pair of common lizards basking in late afternoon sunshine on top of the wall. Wonder if they have been seen by the ecologists doing their survey work for Horizon?

The small lily is a rare garden escape which is still clinging on in the wild. There used to be a mass of them all along the wall - either they have died in the wet, or cold winters, or people have been stealing them to take home!

Orchids in Flower on Coastal Path

The orchids are just starting to bloom along the coastal path at Wylfa.
The first purple flower has just shown with more to come, still green in the grass fringe along the footpath, so be careful where you tread.
